Where can I get the 3rd Encounter?

When I first released WolfEdit 2, out of fairness to the publishers of Wolfenstein 3D, I designed it so that it required the 3rd Encounter or commercially sold versions. However, these versions of Wolfenstein 3D no longer seem to be available from any legitimate source, so the only official answer I can give to that question is "as far as I know, you can't."

However, all is not lost. There is a patch available for WolfEdit 2 that will allow you to create scenarios that can be played using the First or Second Encounter versions of Wolfenstein 3D. You can download the patch from the Info-Mac Archive or any of its mirrors, e.g. go to http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive.html and search for "WolfEdit 1st/2nd Encounter Patch". Full instructions for installing and using the patch are included.

WolfEdit 2 is now Freeware!

As a special Y2K christmas present, I've decided that I'm no longer going to charge for the full version of WolfEdit 2.

To all my registered customers, I'd like to say thanks very much for your support, and I'll continue to help you with any problems you may have to the best of my abilities. I'll try to answer any other people's queries as well, although they'll have a lower priority.

I'm also making the source available on the Info-Mac Archive for any programmers out there who want to hack around with it.

Happy WolfEditing into the next millennium,

Greg Ewing

Eggs:Push "B" when you see the "id" logo at the beginning of the game to see a cool hidden picture. I won't put the picture here because if you've never seen it before, it's better you check it out for yourself. The guys in the picture are David Lowery and Scott Everts who were of the management team at id.
